Near and Far Photography Competition

We are delighted to announce this competition as part of our Near and Far programme of events this summer. The programme accompanies Paul Harris' exhibition in the Centre: "The Water's Edge - photographs from Nidderdale and beyond".

And now it's your chance to show us your photography skills!  You are invited to enter up to 5 of your photographs illustrating the subject "Near and Far" into our competition.  Images must be entered as digital files and may be taken using a camera or smartphone.

Entry fee: £1 per image or 5 images for £4 (up to a maximum of 5 entries per person).  There are two classes: adult and under 18 years.

Closing date: 31 August 2019

The competition will be judged by a panel to be chaired by the chairman of Washburn Heritage Centre, Simon Hill, who was awarded the distinction of Professional Photographer of the Year at the National Photography Awards 2019.  The results of the competition and the winning photograph will be published on our website in September.  Prizes will be given!

All entries are to be submitted as jpeg files, maximum 1920x1200 pixels, 2MB.  File names to be "Surname_FirstName_Title-with-hyphens.jpg.  For example Bloggs_Fred_View-across-Thruscross.jpg

Please email your entries to centre@washburnvalley.org stating whether you are an adult or young person under 18 years.  GOOD LUCK!
