This fascinating talk by Dr Rebecca Gowland of Durham University explores the health consequences of child labour during the industrial revolution in the North of England. The skeletal remains of young people found in the excavation of Fewston churchyard revealed the harrowing lives of these children; born into poverty and forced to work long hours in dangerous conditions.
Light refreshments served. Cost £10 member, £12 non-member.

Less than a mile from the A59, the Centre is next to Fewston Church with a small car park.
